E-books

So for ICT homework our teacher asked us to research e-books. For those who don't know e-books are basically books that can be viewed online. The whole point of the homework was to research the different types of e-books, what works and what doesn't so that when we come to create our e-books we already know what looks awesome!
One of the books i researched was the secret http://thesecret.tv/secret-treasures-ebooks.html I found that the navigation was very straight forward along with instructions to download e-book.The colour schemes used one the web page was similar to the actual book this promotes recognition.Though the book is not suitable for younger reader there is lack of pictures. On the other hand i thought there were an infinite amount of hyperlinks (this can be complicated at times & time consuming for less advanced viewers).Overall i thought that e-books aren’t exactly expected to be user-friendly since it is basically provides an alternate reading choice for lovers of technology.
Another book that i researched was the killer applications http://www.killer-apps.com/ The format & colour schemes used are bright & attractive. There is a choice of either enabling or disabling the use of java which allows you to view images in 3D.Images: subtle & small but they still fulfil their purpose of sending across the message.Hover Menu: allows you to either read the entire book or simple view a couple of chapters. But the down side is that when reading the chapters scrolling is a nuisance.Overall view: excellent layout, everything is in clear readable font with colours that don’t hurt your eyes. The downloading speed is swift & you don’t have to go through several steps to get to a certain chapter.

Much Love,
Lishey x
